Biodiesel, also known as fatty acid methyl ester, is a kind of fuel for internal combustion engine obtained by esterification of low carbon alcohol (such as methanol) after animal and plant oils as raw materials. It is a renewable and pollution-free green clean fuel, which can be widely used as fuel for automobiles, internal combustion engines and power plants, can be burned alone, or can be mixed with 0# mineral diesel in any proportion.
Compared with mineral diesel, biodiesel has the following advantages:
1, does not contain benzene and other aromatic rings, non-toxic, biodegradable;
2, renewable, ease human dependence on mineral oil fuel;
3, more complete combustion in the internal combustion engine, particulate matter (black smoke), carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide emissions are significantly reduced;
4, cetane number is higher, can improve ignition and lubrication performance, with higher engine efficiency and durability;
5, flash point is much higher than mineral diesel, with good storage and transportation safety.
